Where We Started
AKRA Builders was founded in 1974 and began business as a local residential and commercial construction firm in the Effingham, IL area. Our reputation quickly spread propelling our growth throughout the region.
By the early 80’s AKRA became the regional leader for commercial projects across Central Illinois. In the 1990’s AKRA completed its first multi-state project. AKRA’s reputation for performance and integrity fueled our growth and expanded our footprint into fourteen states.
Today, our continued growth is the result of our commitment to our clients. Our long-standing client relationships enable us to follow our clients as they expand into new territories. AKRA’s reputation speaks for itself as more than 80% of our business comes from repeat clients and word of mouth referral.
