Giving Back
For more than 40 years Habitat for Humanity has been building homes around the world. Their unique “sweat equity” model of providing housing for those less fortunate, has provided more than 800,000 units, on every continent but Antarctica. As compared to the largest US home builders, (DR Horton, Pulte, and others), Habitat for Humanity would rank as the 4th largest home-builders in the US.
Effingham County Habitat for Humanity is completing its 13th home since its creation in 1999. This year, a parent and child will be the proud new owners of the home in rural Effingham. Through Habitat for Humanity, the new homeowners contribute sweat equity on the home, while paying for the construction materials through a 20 year (0%) mortgage provided by Habitat for Humanity.
The majority of labor is provided by area craftsman who donate their weekend time to help. The AKRA Builders team is proud to assist on yet another Habitat for Humanity project.
AKRA is proud to deliver “building solutions” for Habitat for Humanity’s incredible efforts.
